Galvanized Coating Selection for Crate and Box-Binding Wire

The zinc coating on galvanized crate wire is specified by minimum coating weight, measured in ounces of zinc per square foot of wire surface. Regular (commercial) galvanized wire carries no specified minimum coating weight and is the baseline grade. Type 1, Type 2, and Type 3 coatings carry progressively heavier minimums.
